If you have been diagnosed with early/younger-onset dementia this space is designed for you.

Welcome! STRONGER WITH DEMENTIA (SWD) is a gathering space for individuals living with an early/younger - onset dementia diagnosis.

We believe in the strength of each person and are here to offer opportunities for peer-to-peer support, open sharing of personal journeys, and the exchange of information.

Stronger With Dementia emphasizes the importance of commitment to our peers as we navigate this journey together. It highlights the necessity of support systems that foster understanding and compassion, helping individuals cope with the challenges they face.

Above all, it instills a sense of hope, reminding us that with the right resources and community, we can thrive despite the difficulties presented by dementia.

Dementia is not a single disease, but a broad term describing changes in memory, thinking, reasoning, and behavior that interfere with daily life. It can also affect mood, personality, and relationships. More than 55 million people worldwide live with dementia today, and nearly 10 million new cases are diagnosed each year.

Plan to join us at an upcoming  meeting or email us with questions or comments. We look forward to seeing you!

There are many forms of dementia, each with their own unique symptoms and challenges: •Alzheimer’s Disease – The most common type; causes memory loss, confusion, and gradual decline. •Vascular Dementia – Linked to reduced blood flow to the brain, often after strokes; affects reasoning and problem-solving. •Lewy Body Dementia – Includes visual hallucinations, movement difficulties, and disrupted sleep. •Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) – Affects personality, behavior, and language; often begins between ages 45–65. •Mixed Dementia – A combination of two or more types, such as Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia.

Until then, make the most of every moment!
